Painting "out of the colour", every impression a happening, a celebration…
Searching and discovering, abidance and movement, delight..an adventure… a journey in a unknown land…
Painting from nature is not copying the object, it is realising sensations. It is almost that you would become one with the landscape.
- Paul Cézanne -
These impressions-painted with gouache, inks and soluble coloured crayons-were born in the vastness of the picturesque landscape of the western Algarve, near Barão S. João and close to the see. They show "my Portugal", i tis not just to look into the landscape, it is to look behind the landscape… Light, darkness and atmosphere are reflected in colours and shape. The lush green of the fields, the fragrance of wild plants, the silence oft he valleys and hills, Cork oaks trees dancing in the wind. Even the singing oft he birds can be found in the colour…
To feel and express the power of this wild nature, her lightness and ponderosity, her austerity and amplitude… the eternal transformation manifests itself when I paint, when I do my walks with the colours…These delicate impressions show na artwork inspired by the fine material quality of the plant colour. Pieces of silk dyed by hand with plant colours, dried flowers and leaves complement the compositions.
The harmony and beauty emanating from these natural colours appeals to me. It is their lightness and transparency, their fleeting and transient… they have arisen with the sunlight and give us their radiance and warmth.
These and other motifs you can find as well on my handmade postcards.
I don't think about anything when I paint, I see colours

These diverse impressions are painted with different techniques:
Watercolour, Gouache, Tempera, and mixed equipment.
What they have in common is that they are created out of colour, they share the perception of light and darkness… The colour starts to talk, to show her quality, to move around, to take place, to hide, and get in touch with other colours… relationship happens, celebrations, to build up layers of paint brings deepness, to protect, what is important and let go what has to change, …what needs the picture more. Transformation… with tenderness and courage…
I want a painting to breathe and be alive
- Lee Krasner -
To go for it, is the way…an invitation for an adventure…a painting moment, to confront one's own freedom and with its limits…
Surface, lines and colours seek new paths, contrast is welcome, it can be loud and colourful… colour spaces open up… all is welcome what inspires, …movement and stillness find each other… the impossible becomes possible…to outgrow yourself…
